Mikro Chorio was built in the 15th century in the hills above the Livadia and was abandoned after The Second World War by the residents. Some of them moved to Livadia to start a new life as trade developed around the port. This medieval village is surrounded by ancient stone walls that were constructed centuries ago to marshal the animals. Also, many small churches were built in mountainous rural architecture that makes them indistinguishable on the rocky slopes. The centennial oaks and olive trees stand still keeping their secrets, and offer sanctuary to birds.
